Vietnam Airlines has formally unveiled a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner with a special livery of the chim Lac, which is a sacred symbol of Vietnamese culture deeply connected with the nation’s origin and symbolizing aspirations for progress and longevity.
The livery was made to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the founding of Vietnam Airlines as well as the pre-celebration of Reunification Day, which is on April 30th.

Vietnam Airlines is the national carrier and the biggest airline. Vietnam Airlines was established in 1956 as a state-owned airline. The airline initially operated under the name Vietnam Civil Aviation. It initially served domestic routes in 1956. Its foreign services began in the early 1990s.
Its main hub is Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi, with other hubs in Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang International Airport.

Given that the airline and the country itself is entering a new development phase with a focus on the cultivation of Vietnamese cultural values and human potential as pillars for sustainable development as included in the documents of the 13th National Party Congress, the airline’s decision to show the Lac bird livery on one of the world’s most advanced aircraft reflects the spirit creatively and responsibly.
Vietnam Airline Deputy General Director Dang Anh Tuan explained that the Lac bird embodies the pioneering spirit, the willingness to conquer and conquer, and the determination always to rise up, with presenting the symbol on Boeing 787, a symbol of world aviation technology, echoing the airline’s dream to connect tradition and the future while introducing the Vietnamese identity to the world.
